Adriana Sapia
Adriana Sapia is a photographer and visual artist currently based in Detroit, MI. A lifelong athlete and former collegiate soccer player, she was immersed in sports from an early age. Amidst the intensity of athletics, photography became her escape. A space to slow down, explore imagination and find meaning beyond performance. Her practice spans fine art, editorial and commercial image-making, weaving memory and emotion into visual worlds that invite viewers to step into their own narratives.
Her work has been recognized in several exhibitions and publications including a feature in PhotoVogue. Most recently, Sapia had several images featured in the Society for Photographic Education’s Midwest Conference Student Exhibition in Detroit, MI. Her work was also highlighted in the Darkroom Magazine’s Spotlight 2025. Previously, Sapia’s Reflections of Her series was curated into the exhibition MIRAGE for the NOVA24 | Photo + Film Festival. In addition, one of her works was chosen for the LEAFLESS exhibition, curated by Sara Nickleson.
Over the past year, Sapia gained professional experience through an internship with photographer Brad Ziegler, further grounding her practice in both technical skill and creative exploration. She is currently pursuing her BFA in photography at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI and will graduate in December 2025.
